Ribbon fiber fusion splicer applied in PDA(photo diode array)
Photodiode Array Detector, referred to as PDA(photo-diode Array) Detector or DAD(Diode Array Detector) Detector, is a new type of ULTRAVIOLET Detector developed in the 1980s.
Working principle as follow:
The light source enters the flow pool through a series of optical mirrors. The light from the flow cell is then irradiated to a group of photodiodes through the splitting system and slit, and the data collection system records the spectral absorption of the components in real time to obtain the three-dimensional stereospectrum. A group of photodiodes is used to simultaneously detect all wavelengths of UV light passing through the sample, rather than one or several wavelengths. Unlike ordinary UV-VIS detectors, the light entering the flow cell is no longer monochromatic. It has the following advantages:
(3) Functions such as chromatographic peak purity identification and spectral image retrieval can provide qualitative information of components.
During the working process of PDA,In order to improve signal-to-noise ratio, the front end of PDA must reduce backlight reflection. One of the end of ribbon fiber splicing is coupled to the optical flow cell, and the other end of the fiber is cut at a certain Angle.
