How to choose fiber fusion splicer for Raycus or IPG fiber laser repair?


Fiber fusion splicer is one of the fiber laser repairing tools. When the fiber laser optical moudule damaged, we need a fiber fusion splicer to splice the fibers. There are many brands and models fusion splicers in the market, which one should I choose?


We can choose the fiber fusion splicer according to the fiber cladding diameters, no matter what fiber core diameter it is.


Usually the cladding meter for inputting energy fiber is 125μm, we could use common fiber fusion splicers in the market, such as Fujikura 60S/70S, Sumitomo 81C, INNO View 7, Shinho X-910 etc.. But for outputting energy fibers, usually their cladding diameter is around 250μm, 400μm, 600μm etc., we need specialty fiber fusion splicer, such as Fujikura FSM100M, FSM100M+, SHINHO S-27 LDF, SHINHO S-37 LDF etc. Below table is the fiber cladding diameter ranges comparison.



Fujikura LDF fiber fusion splicer has big diameter ranges, the price is of course higher. SHINHO S-27 LDF fiber fusion splicer separate the diameters into 125~250 and 250~440 two types, and offer different types with lower prices. SHINHO S-37 LDF fiber fusion splicer is similar to Fujikura FSM100M.
