How to calibrate the ARC of polarization-maintaining(PM) fiber fusion splicer

Arc is a kind of plasma, the shape and stability are affected by many factors, such as electrode rod, temperature, pressure and so on. Although the polarizing fiber welding machine can dynamically adjust the arc power according to the light intensity at the time of welding, the adjustment is based on statistical results, and can not quickly respond to the sudden change of the external environment. In addition, changes in discharge intensity due to electrode wear and fiber debris adhesion cannot be automatically corrected, and the discharge center sometimes moves to the left or right. In this case, the discharge center of the polarization-maintaining fiber welding electrode will shift relative to the position of the fiber welding, and it is necessary to perform discharge correction to solve these problems.
The principle of electrical arc correction for polarisation-maintaining fiber welding is that after the fiber is advanced and cored, the current welding parameter group is used to ablate the fiber, judge the arc power according to the ablative condition of the fiber, and change the discharge current intensity until the test results meet the requirements.

Select manual calibration and enter the video interface Cut and clamp the optical fiber according to the steps of fusing the optical fiber, press the key or the "Execute" key on the screen, the calibration program starts to run and the test result is given. According to this test result, manually set the discharge current in the welding parameters, and repeat the above steps until the calibration is successful on the display page.

Automatic calibration, select automatic calibration, enter the video interface, cut and clamp the optical fiber according to the steps of fusing the optical fiber, press the confirm button, the calibration program starts to run and give the test result. Automatic calibration will automatically change the discharge current in the welding parameters according to the test results. If "arc calibration completed" is displayed, the current current value is the appropriate current value. If "arc is too large or too small" is displayed, the optical fiber is re-prepared and tested again until the test result is displayed as "Arc calibration complete".
