Large Diameter Splicing System
The rapid development of photonic technologies has created the
need for sophisticated optical products well outside the "telecom
standards." User requirements and specifications for these photonic
components are both increasingly diverse and technically challenging. Large
diameter fibers (> 125 µm standard telecom fibers) are used in a variety of
applications such as laser systems, medical devices and sensors.
Designed for reproducibility, precision, and user-friendly
operation, the Large Diameter Splicing provides the user a
manufacturing approach to optical component product development. Its extreme
flexibility will enable customers to realize current and future glass
processing and fusion splicing needs. Currently for large diameter splicing
there are mainly: Fitel S178LDF, FSM100M, Shinho S-37.
Precision mechanical design, coupled with powerful, high contrast
optics makes Shinho S-37 quite different. It is robust and compact; S-37 machine handles fiber diameters from 125
µm to 500µm, as well as optics such as prisms and lenses, with alignment and
fusion of unsurpassed quality;it can splice large-diameter fibers with only 30 seconds for one splicing(testing of 400μm cladding diameter) and can be used for the production of kilowatt-level
fiber lasers.
Shinho S-37 device is particularly advantageous for
service teams that travel worldwide for laser manufacturers. Combined with SHINHO LDF cleaver LDC100, it is the perfect splicing
equipment.
